There are few things better than hearing the shutter click and instantly knowing that you’ve captured the perfect shot. After more than a decade behind the camera and well over a million clicks I usually know without having to look. In that time I’ve learned to observe the subtle details that make each couple unique. I love the challenge of creating memorable images that reflect the individual personality of each couple.

Before Bryan Jonathan Weddings I worked as a photojournalist for WDIO TV/ABC in Duluth and as a studio photographer for Thomson Reuters. My “day job” is shooting events and promotional material at the U of MN Twin Cities. I studied photography and design at the U of MN Duluth where I began honing my weddings skills. I’ve also been extraordinarily blessed to have traveled the world. My portfolio contains photos and video, both personal and professional, from 29 countries on six continents.

1. In middle school I wanted a permed mullet but my mother wouldn’t let me.
2. I am a certified P2 paraglider pilot in Australia.
3. I once had 6 body piercings including the back of my neck.
4. My salsa garden grows various tomatoes, peppers, onions, and garlic.
5. I have a Boston Terrier and a pet tortoise.
6. My wife, Sara, and I have been married for 7 years and have a beautiful 10 month old daughter.
7. If I’m not shooting a wedding you will likely find me whitewater kayaking or mountain biking.
8. Mmmmmm sushi.
9. Last summer I put more miles on my motorcycle than my car.

Photography allows me the unique opportunity to transform fleeting moments into lasting memories. This privilege has inspired me to stay behind the camera for the last ten years. A high school elective grew into a college minor, and turned into a business that is an important part of my life.

I got serious about photography while attending college in Duluth. My first paid gig was shooting pee wee hockey with Bryan. We’ve come a long way since those days. I took pictures for the college paper, family, friends and then the local music scene. I have been fortunate enough to gain some experience within the national music industry.

My wife and I now live Minneapolis. I enjoy taking photos every chance I get. I look forward to every wedding as an occasion to capture the fleeting moments of their special day.

1. I am a coffee addict.
2. I share a name with both my grandpa and dad- I am the third Clark Kimball.
3. I have brewed nearly 100 gallons of beer.
4. I’ve never broken a bone.
5. In college I had dreadlocks, they were awesome!
6. French toast with cheese is my favorite breakfast.
7. Sometimes I make a meal just to have something to dip into ketchup.
8. I’ve watched Jurassic Park more than 30 times.
9. I could type the alphabet before I could speak it.
