Northland Country Club Wedding: Darren and Andrea

Posted on October 15th, 2012 by Bryan Jonathan

It was a blustery September day in Duluth but that didn’t stop Darren and Andrea from making the most of their outdoor wedding at Northland Country Club. Guests endured biting lake winds to witness the couple exchange vows beneath Darren’s handmade birch arch. During the ceremony Darren and Andrea shared from a glass of sweet wine followed by a bitter wine, symbolizing their promise to share both the sweet and the inevitable bitter times ahead. After the ceremony, the newlyweds slipped away in Darren’s classic Oldsmobile for a few private moments at a secret beach on Lake Superior. As the sun broke from behind the storm clouds, we were able to capture some amazing shots and were reminded that life may bring a few bitter days, but the sweet ones are just around the corner.

North Shore Wedding Photography: Dave and Anne

Dave and Anne’s wedding focused on what matters most, the love they share for each other. Their intimate ceremony at Larsmont Cottages, just past Duluth, was witnessed by their closest family and friends. Guests sat in lawn chairs on the rocky shores of Lake Superior while Dave’s brother officiated and vows were exchanged beneath a driftwood arch. The ceremony was sweet, emotions were genuine, and the love was true. Personal touches, including Anne’s handmade bridesmaid necklaces and a bobblehead cake topper added to the fun. After dinner, guests enjoyed lawn games including bocce ball, croquet, and catch. The entire day was a relaxing celebration with friends and family, a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle that consumes many weddings. It was a lesson in simplicity and the joy of love, one we all need to embrace a little more.

Duluth MN Wedding Photography: Pat and Tara

Posted on July 20th, 2012 by Bryan Jonathan

Pat’s face showed his excitement tempered by nerves as Tara, his bride, approached from behind for her big reveal. She was absolutely radiant in her wedding dress and it was obvious as Pat turned around that he approved. Pat and Tara pledged their lives to each other in a traditional wedding Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. The ceremony was sweet and an unnamed father may have even tried to conceal his teary eye as vows were exchanged. After Mass, Pat and Tara were able to sneak away, while guests enjoyed happy hour at the DECC, for a quick photo shoot around Canal Park. While shooting our bride and groom only session, several tourists took the opportunity to offer their congratulations by hooting and hollering. It’s hard not to love Duluth! We made our way back to the Horizon Room at the DECC where the Photo Booth and A.T. Entertainment kept the guests entertained well into the night.

Be sure to check out both slideshows and leave your well-wishes below for Pat and Tara.
