North Shore Wedding Photography: Andy and Molly

Posted on September 12th, 2011 by Bryan Jonathan

This was the wedding I almost didn’t photograph. I recently picked-up new video gear and wanted to test it out so I invited myself along with good friend and cinematographer Dan from Dan Bergh Videography. Andy and Molly were gracious hosts in allowing Dan an assistant. We made a mini vacation out of the weekend- took our time driving up the North Shore, rode the alpine slide at Lutsen Mountain, camped along the Superior Hiking Trail, and joined the bridal party for the groom’s dinner at Sven and Ole’s in Grand Marais.

Dan and I shot video all morning while Molly and the ladies did their hair and the gentlemen got ready. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky at Lutsen Resort and we couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous day on the North Shore. During the outdoor ceremony I set myself up with a telephoto lens and filmed from beyond the alter. Andy and Molly were both facing away from the guests when Andy leaned over to whisper “I love you” to Molly. I felt privileged to be the only guest to see that special moment.

After dinner, the daylight had softened and the moment was simply too perfect for me to pass up an opportunity to take a few pics. I stole the bride and groom for a few minutes and here are some of shots we captured. Couples like Andy and Molly are the reason I love wedding photography- they are truly in love, gracious hosts, and unbelievably fun to work with. Andy, your best man got it right- Nice Catch!

Congrats!
